Rome Private Transfers with Sightseeing

Option A: Chianti Sightseeing
Stop in two of the quaint towns of Chianti for sightseeing on your own, along with a local vineyard for a wine tasting tour.
Wine and olive oil tasting fees of approximately €16 per person apply, with lunch paid directly. Reservations can also be made at the Antinori vineyards for a special Wine Tasting Lunch that includes a tour of the cellars with sommelier, generous tasting of three wines, three-course lunch, and olive oil tasting at €130 per person and is paid directly to the restaurant.
Option B: Siena and San Gimignano
Explore the towns of Siena and San Gimignano on your own, or add an expert guide in Siena for a 2 hour walking tour.

Option C: Southern Tuscany
See the heart of Tuscany during stops in Montepulciano and Pienza, with time for lunch on your own. Or, add an expert guide (additional cost) for an in-depth 3 hour tour to include visits to an olive oil mill, winery, or cheesemaker with tastings.
Optional Three Hour Tour of Montepulciano, a Winery and an Olive Oil mill:
Take a walking tour of the hilltop town of Montepulciano with guide and stop at a local wine cellar for a tasting of the Vino Nobile of Montepulciano, then proceed to a local olive oil mill for a tour and tasting of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Optional Three Hour Tour of Pienza and a Local Cheesemaker
Take a pleasant journey through the Val d’Orcia with your local guide and enjoy a walking tour of the quaint town of Pienza, an architectural masterpiece of Renaissance design, where you will see the Palazzo Piccolomini and Duomo along with the many shops selling every type of pecorino cheese imaginable. Then head into the countryside to a local cheese producer and tour his workshop, learning about the various types of pecorino he produces. End the tour with a tasting of the various cheeses accompanied by cold cuts and bruschetta toasted bread with Extra Virgin Olive Oil and toppings.
Option D: Orvieto and Farmhouse Tastings (only for Rome departures)
Stop in the famous Umbrian town of Orvieto, where you will meet up with your guide for the morning and take a walking tour of the historical center along its medieval cobblestone streets to see the famous Duomo and the Pozzo of San Patrizio (entry fee required to tour internally). Then proceed into the countryside to our favorite farm that produces its own Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Wine, tour the property and enjoy tastings of both specialties before proceeding to Florence.
Rome City Tours
Ancient Rome Tour (3 hours)
Take a journey through time and discover Ancient Rome with your expert guide and driver. See the famous sites of the Roman gladiator fights at the Colosseum, learn the meaning of the ruins at the Forum, and visit Circo Massimo, the Arch of Constatine and Piazza Venezia.
Entry fees of € 16 per person are prepaid for reserved tickets. Includes car and driver.
The Vatican Experience: St Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel with Reserved Entrance (4 hours)
Enjoy an informative tour of the Vatican accompanied by an expert guide with pre-reserved entrance times to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Our special relationship with the Vatican enables us to reserve your entrance to avoid waiting in the immense lines that one finds most of the year. Transfer by taxi to the Vatican for this four hour in-depth tour where you will learn about the great artists who helped to embellish one of the most fascinating sovereign states in the world. Visit the Vatican museums which includes some of the worlds most precious artistic and religious treasures including the Galleries of Maps, Candelabras and Tapestries, the Raphael Rooms, Pinacoteca, or Egyptian Museum and Michelangelo’s stunning frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. Afterwards, a visit to St Peter’s Basilica completes the tour with its splendid sculptures and mosaics of great historic and religious importance.
Tours are available Monday through Saturday with start times from 8:30 am through 1:00 p.m. and we offer two options; Private Vatican Tours and Small Group Vatican Tours. A preference for morning or afternoon should be stated at the time of booking, along with any possible alternative dates. The Vatican will confirm reservation availability 55 days ahead of your tour date and at that time final documents will be sent. We cannot take responsibility for the Vatican’s reservation system or ticket availability. Tickets are not refundable in any circumstance for cancellations less than 60 days before the tour date.
Private Vatican Tour (4 hours)
Your private guide will meet you in your hotel and you will proceed by taxi (to be paid directly) to the Vatican. Enter with a reservation and tour the Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica.
NEW! Private Vatican Tours in the Evenings (2 ½-3 hours)
The Vatican is scheduled to open the Museums and Sistine Chapel to the public on Friday nights and this is an exceptional opportunity to see the Vatican in the evenings with the lights of Rome visible from the terraces. We would recommend having an early dinner and meeting your guide for an 8:30-9:00 p.m. appointment to start the tour. Visit the museum’s collections (as described above) with your expert guide and end with the spectacular Sistine Chapel. Please note that the Basilica of St Peter’s is not included in this tour.
Small Group Vatican Tour (4 – 6 persons total)
Share the knowledge of your expert guide with others in a very small group of 4-6 people for a more economical option for touring the Vatican with Reserved Entry. Meet your guide at a designated spot near the Vatican and tour the Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica during this four hour tour
Price per Person:
A minimum of 4 people must reserve in order to confirm the tour; if this number has not been met 15 days before the tour you will be notified and given the option to cancel without penalty or to book the Private Vatican tour at higher cost.
For the Private Vatican Tour , Evening Vatican Tour and the Small Group Vatican Tour the entrance tickets are an additional € 19 and will be charged to your credit card along with the tour price. The entrance tickets are not refundable by the Vatican from 60 days before the requested tour date.
The Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museum are closed Sundays, along with religious and national holidays and we discourage booking on Wednesday mornings when the Basilica is often closed.

Rome Pizza Making (3 hours)
Learn the secrets of our top pizzaiolo Tonino during this hands-on lesson in his rustic pizzeria in one of Rome’s typical neighbourhoods. Meeting at the pizzeria at 10:30 a.m. (address will be supplied) and start with a tour of the local fruit and vegetable market, then proceed to your work station in the pizzeria where you will don your apron and begin the theoretical lesson on the proper base, choices of toppings and cheeses and preparation techniques. Then begin work on your own pizzas under Tonino’s tutelage and pop them in the wood burning oven when you have perfected your work. Enjoy your pizzas for lunch accompanied by soft drinks, beer or wine.
NEW! Gastronomic Walking Tour of Rome
Rome is a city with neighborhoods nicely explored on foot where your guide can lead you down hidden alleys to discover the palaces of the ancient nobles and one can imagine the life of historic times. This stroll starts from Ponte Sisto, one of the oldest bridges of the city, built by the same Pope who commissioned the Sistine Chapel. From there we will stroll to Via Giulia looking at a typical road of the XVI century and will enter into the internal courtyard of Palazzo Spada to admire the perspective gallery of Borromini, one of the masters of the Baroque style in Rome. We’ll stop in a local bakery to learn about Rome’s breads and pastries and then continue to the characteristic Piazza Farnese. From there Campo dei Fiori is just around the corner with its open air market with local foods and souvenirs of the city. We will end the tour in Via dei Giubbonari at the Salumeria Roscioli an well established gastronomy shop where we will enjoy a nice wine tasting of local vintages from the vineyards outside of Rome accompanied by typical appetizers of cold cuts and local cheeses.

The Borghese Gallery and Gardens Tour (3 hours)
The perfect tour for art lovers! The original sculptures and paintings in the Borghese Gallery date back to Cardinal Scipione's collection and include masterpieces by Rubens, Bernini and Caravaggio. You will enter with a reservation and your expert guide will lead you through the gallery with explanations to appreciate these famous works of art. Afterwards you can take a stroll through the Borghese Gardens, one of the first parks of its kinds in Rome with its formal gardens divided by avenues and graced by statues. Otherwise your guide can call a taxi for a ride through the park before returning to your hotel.

Rome Underground (3 hours)
Discover the vast labyrinth of Roman Catacombs, the ancient cemeteries where many saints and popes where buried, during this tour with expert guide. Then proceed to the Church of San Clemente, with its three levels of churches constructed atop one another where you will descend from the stunning 12th century basilica down to the 4th century church and then further below ground to the temple of the cult of Mithras, a mystical all-male religion imported from Persia. Many beautiful mosaics and frescoes are still viewable throughout the churches.
Jewish History in Rome (3 hours)
This Jewish heritage tour includes a visit with expert guide to the beautiful Rome Synagogue and museum, where their resident expert will show you both the ancient and modern Synagogues. Proceed with your guide on a walking tour of the ghetto dating back to the 16th century, along with the ancient fish market. Finish the tour with a visit to Michelangelo’s statue of Moses in the San Pietro in Vincoli church and a discussion of Judaism in Rome over the centuries.

Enjoy a day exploring the Roman countryside area of Castelli Romani with visits to Castel Gandolfo, Nemi and a Frascati Winery producing their well-known white wines. This area is rich in imposing villas of the noble families of Rome who built their summer retreats in this scenic, cooler environment. Castel Gandolfo is a quaint town overlooking Lake Albano that is the site of the Pope’s summer residence and you’ll enjoy a relaxing walk to see the highlights with your guide. Tivoli’s Villas and Gardens (6 hours)
Depart your hotel at 9:00 am with your expert guide and private car, for a relaxing day discovering the archeological wonders of Tivoli. Tivoli’s picture-perfect countryside, fresh air and beautiful views greatly attracted the Imperial Romans. Visit the ruins of Hadrian’s Villa , one of the largest and most spectacular villas ever built in the Roman Empire. After a break for lunch (to be paid separately) visit the town’s most famous sight: Villa d’Este, a country residence built in the 16th century by Pirro Ligorio for Cardinal Ippolito d’Este. Rediscovered after excavations in the 17th century, Pompeii offers a glimpse of its surviving buildings including age-old paintings and sculptures. Amalfi Coast and Pompeii by train from Rome
A more affordable option to visit the Amalfi Coast is our Train Package. Our local driver will meet you at the Naples train station upon arrival and accompany you for a day of touring the Amalfi Coast. Visit Pompeii during a two hour tour with expert guide and discover the hidden city beneath the ruins, the proceed to Sorrento and Positano OR Amalfi and Ravello for sightseeing on your own before returning to the Naples train station at the end of the day for the return to Rome.
